MoonTrader does not partner with VPS providers and cannot recommend specific services or take responsibility for their stability.
The information below is not advertising - it is a summary of what MoonTrader users actually choose based on collected statistics and user reports.

Why a VPS Matters

For effective scalping and especially for automated high-frequency trading strategies, low latency and a stable network connection are critical.
Home internet, Wi-Fi, and unstable routes often introduce unpredictable latency spikes, which directly affects order execution speed and the reliability of algorithmic strategies.

System Requirements for a VPS

Parameter Minimum Most commonly used
CPU 2 vCPU 4 vCPU
RAM 2 GB 2–4 GB
Network 1 Gbps 1 Gbps+
OS Ubuntu 22.04 / Windows Server Ubuntu 22.04 (preferred)

💡 Linux is generally chosen more often due to better stability and lower cost.

Where the VPS Should Be Located

The most important factor is that the VPS must be as close as possible to the exchange servers.

Priority Regions

Exchange Priority region Alternative

Bybit 🇸🇬 Singapore
OKX 🇭🇰 Hong Kong 🇸🇬 Singapore

VPS Most Commonly Chosen by MoonTrader Users

Based on logs sent by users and general feedback, the overwhelming majority of MoonTrader traders use AWS-based VPS in Asia:

🟩 Amazon Lightsail (2 vCPU / 2 GB)

Cost: ~$12/month (fixed price)
Regions: Tokyo / Singapore

Features:

  • Predictable monthly cost under stable load.
  • Under higher loads, burst credits may be used — sometimes slightly increasing the final monthly bill.
  • The management console becomes inconvenient when running 50–100+ instances.
  • Windows instances cost roughly twice as much (applies to all AWS instance types).

🟩 AWS EC2 t3.small (2 vCPU / 2 GB)

Cost: ~$20–25/month
— Ubuntu: $0.0264/hour
— Windows: $0.0448/hour

Features:

  • Stable performance with hourly billing.
  • Default disk: 8 GB — additional storage may be required.
  • During peak load, additional CPU credit charges may occur
(usually less than ~10% of the monthly cost).

🟩 AWS EC2 t4g.small (ARM, 2 vCPU / 2 GB)

Cost: $0.0247/hour (~20% cheaper than t3.small)

Features:

  • Similar reliability and behavior to t3.small.
  • ARM instances support Ubuntu only (Windows is not available).
  • Chosen when users want lower cost with the same stability.

VPS Used Less Frequently

Some providers are used much less often in practice.
They technically meet the stated specifications, but user feedback shows they have more reports of unstable performance compared to AWS.

These include:

  • Vultr
  • Contabo
  • Google Cloud
  • Inferno Solutions
  • and other mass-market VPS platforms

(They are used rarely; in most cases because of alternative payment methods like crypto, Qiwi, etc.)

Summary

At the time of writing, MoonTrader users predominantly use AWS Lightsail and AWS EC2 in Asian regions.
This is not a recommendation, but simply the current choice of the community.

Before starting to trade, it is important to independently verify:

  • latency to the exchange,
  • connection stability,
  • how the VPS behaves under your specific load.
