How to Create API Keys on Binance, Bybit, and OKX

Binance

1. Log in to your Binance account.

2. Go to the API Management section:
https://www.binance.com/en/my/settings/api-management
(Or use https://www.binance.com/en/my/sub-account/api-management if you're creating a key for a sub-account.)

3. Click “Create API”, choose type “System generated”, and enter a name (e.g., MT).

4. Complete email and 2FA verification.

5. Set permissions:

  • Spot & Margin Trading — yes
  • Futures — yes
  • Internal Transfers — yes
  • Withdrawals — no

6. Enable IP restriction and enter your static external IP address.

⚠️ If you leave IP restriction disabled or use a dynamic IP, Binance may automatically disable the key if trading permissions are enabled.

7. Save the API key and Secret — they are shown only once.

Bybit

1. Log in to your Bybit account.
(If you're managing a sub-account, switch to it first.)

2. Go to API Management:
https://www.bybit.com/app/user/api-management

3. Click “Create New Key”, then choose “System-generated API key”.

4. Configure:

  • Type: API Transaction
  • Permissions: Read-Write
  • IP Restriction: Only IPs with permissions granted
  • Add your external IP

5. Confirm with Google Authenticator (2FA).

6. Save the API key and Secret — visible once only.

ℹ️ Bybit requires IP whitelisting in secure mode (Only IPs with permissions granted).
Use a static IP to avoid loss of access.

OKX

1. Log in to your OKX account.

2. Go to the API section from your profile.

3. Click “Create API Key (V5)”.

4. Fill in:

  • API Name
  • Passphrase
  • Permissions: Read and Trade
  • (Optional) Add IP whitelist

5. Confirm via 2FA.

6. Save the API key, Secret, and Passphrase — shown only once.

⚠️ Adding an IP address is optional on OKX but highly recommended.
If you enable IP restriction, make sure to use a static IP.
